There's classic skits involving terrible wrapping skills and avoiding Christmas carollers which are hilarious, if not relatable. Within the first five minutes, Miranda asks Stevie: "Wouldn't it be great to have Christmas exactly how we wanted it?"įrom here on out it's pretty expected that nothing will go to plan. In 'The Perfect Christmas', Miranda and Stevie (Sarah Hadland) try to spend Christmas in their joke shop as Miranda's mother Penny (Patricia Hodge) continues her onslaught of traditions, which include setting up Miranda with a 'hunk' and singing at the piano. Of course, the episodes are sprinkled with classic 'Miranda' slapstick comedy and awkwardly timed jokes. In 2010 'The Perfect Christmas' aired, followed by 'It Was Panning' which opened the third series of the comedy in 2012.īoth episodes are available on iPlayer, so I took the opportunity to re-watch them and they are still hilarious even a decade later.
